Frage Stepcraft 600 with Kress 1050

Good afternoon,
I bought a used stepcraft 600 (so I do not know if v1 or v2) and in parallel a Kress 1050 FM1 spindle.
Unfortunately, when I tried to mount the spindle in the tool holder, I discovered that it is not possible because the spindle body interferes with the stepcraft structure.
The tool holder length is 134 mm. A couple of millimiters more and the problem would be solved.
Anyone had the same problem? In case the version I have is V1, the toolholder for V2 would solve?

you bought a serie 1 stepcraft.
your 600 has a toolholder plate witch is 10mm thick and a little shorter than the version 2 plate.
So order a new toolholder plate version 2 at Stepcraft and replace it with yours, than all will fit and work fine.

That's exactly what I did. Upgraded to a Kress & never looked back. Originally use Dremel & Proxxon - which never were any good.
The Kress has extra bulk & rigidity & therefore produces much better results.

Hope you will have lots of pleasure with your machine, but remember you have a semi professional kress spindle but a hobby CNC-machine so be gentle with the cutting depth and axis feeds.
