MACHINE STAND

The structurally integrated machine base frame consists of 100 x 100 mm aluminum profiles in combination with 6 mm thick steel juction plates and provides a stable base for the CNC system. The base frame is supplied as standard.

ROBUST GUIDANCE

Linear ball rail guides with high load capacity and specific aluminum support profiles with torsion-resistant geometry ensure a stable machine chassis.

POWERFUL DRIVE

Optimally controlled NEMA 34 closed-loop stepper motors and smooth-running drive units enable effective operation.

HIGH PRECISION

The Z-axis is equipped with integrated mounting grooves for insert tools and accessories.

INTEGRATED SWITCH CABINET SHELF

The control electronics including motor driver and power supply units are encapsulated and integrated under the machine table. The switch cabinet shelf can be pulled out for maintenance and inspection work.

COMPLETE ENCAPSULATION

All linear guides and ball screws are protected against contamination with strip brushes or silicone seals.

EASY MAINTENANCE

Removable axis covers and easy access to the lubrication fittings of the ball runner blocks enable easy maintenance.

LED ILLUMINATION

The machine table is optimally illuminated with the LED lighting integrated in the X-axis.

POWERFUL CNC MACHINING

The STEPCRAFT Q-Series meets your needs as a gantry milling machine or as a universal milling machine. This makes the CNC machine suitable for a wide range of industries: from woodworking in carpentry to metalworking and advertising technology.

The STEPCRAFT Q.408 can effortlessly process panel materials up to a length of 2.60 meters and a width of up to 1.30 meters. NEMA 34 Closed-Loop stepper motors ensure powerful and fast drive on all axes. The CNC gantry is accelerated using two electrically synchronized stepper motors (gantry system) to ensure maximum travel safety and speed.

CNC: PRECISION AND RELIABILITY

The Q-Series ensures optimal precision and reliability in the manufacturing and processing of high-quality workpieces. To achieve this, the machine frame has been uniformly reinforced, and steel components have been used in structurally high-stress areas. In addition, ball screws are used on all axes to achieve optimal efficiency. This results in a repeatability of +/- 0.012 mm and a backlash of < 0.03 mm.

SOLID FRAME

  • 10 crossbeams, 12 junction plates, and 6 integrated machine legs, along with the two massive Y-axis crossbeams, form a torsion-resistant machine base.
  • Creating an optimal support surface for the machine table, which, when fully bolted, contributes to additional reinforcement of the frame.

STRONG COMPONENTS

  • Custom aluminum support axles with optimized torsional and bending stiffness, as well as improved self-damping.
  • 20 mm wide high-precision ball rail guides on all axes.
  • Portal side panels made of 20 mm thick aluminum sheet.
  • Steel connectors at structurally heavily loaded points.

From the tool changer to pneumatic pop-up pins

You can customize the industrial milling machine STEPCRAFT Q.408 to meet your specific needs. The CNC machine can be expanded with accessories and tools, such as pneumatic pop-up pins, a dust extraction adapter, minimum quantity lubrication, or an automatic tool changer.

Pneumatic Pop-Up Pins

The integrated pneumatic workpiece clamping system enables precise and repeatable positioning of the workpieces, contributing to efficient and accurate machining. The system can be easily extended and retracted via a switch, making operation particularly user-friendly.

Automatic Tool Changer

Milling motors with an integrated automatic tool changer featuring an SK20 clamping system and ER16 collets enable fully automated machining without manual intervention. A 10-fold tool magazine provides the available tools.

Dust extraction adapter

The dust extraction adapter seals excellently around the workpiece thanks to its robust, dual-row bristles. The clever mounting allows for quick removal of the dust shoe. With automatic height adjustment in the Z-direction, it adapts ideally to the surface and can be fixed in the upper position for maintenance tasks.
