There is no problem, however simple, that cannot be made more complicated by thinking about it.

Don't know the MM1000 spindle, but if the budget will stretch to the Industrial Grade VFD spindle from StoneyCNC you will not be disappointed. I purchased one when my HF350 gave out on me and am delighted with its performance.
With a seamless interface with the Stepcraft control board and a high quality controller, this will do all that you will need of a spindle except handle an ATC. This is a small penalty to pay for superb performance.
