Frage My Arcade Machine

Hi guys,

First of all I would like to thank Rory from stoneycnc.co.uk who came with rocket speed help when timing belt from my S600 gone! I got new one in not even 24hrs. So BIG thanks to Rory!
Currently I am working on my Mini Arcade Machine project. Nothing special, 9" lcd hdmi screen, raspberry pi 2, audio amplifier etc. It will look like only for one player but.... It has "probably nice feature" which is console for second player. Arcade machine is quite small (around 370mm, 370mm, 300mm) and console for second player will be separate part which can be "inserted" as a drawer into whole machine.

Very nice feature - I really like the idea!


One additional thought: I would consider to design some kind of door mechanism to close up the key shaped opening which allows right now the second Joystick to pass through the side panel.
Maybe a little spring loaded door or a two way door or a sliding door or or or

However - well contrived!!!

Thats good idea with doors!
For now I am going to use small neodymium magnets to hold the console when is not in use. If you look at third screenshot, there is two rectangle pockets (outside of the right side of console) for magnets, the same pockets has right side panel of whole machine.

Maybe you could work a BOM Adjust here from the electronic parts, such as pushbuttons, .....

Main controller will be Raspberry Pi 2 with installed RetroPie Project ( blog.petrockblock.com/retropie/ ), so it's mean almost any kind of emulator and thousands of games I will post BOM later on today (busy at work at this moment ).

I use the RP2 for emulation also: even most of the Playstation One games are running great on it.

As for the controls, the ControlBlock (or similar) extension board is almost an obligatory, especially if you want to use a two player concept.
I have the ControlBlock, didn't test it yet but according to many users, it's a nice piece of hardware for arcade cabs configurations.
