I created a 2D object (4mm MDF) and had my SC 420 set up for the first cycle ever with UCCNC.
The only option I don't find in UCCNC is the speed and plunge rate.

The cycle now goes way too fast, I had to reset the machine to avoid a broken tool.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You define the Speed in the CAM Solution, i.e. Estlcam on the simplest way.

Cheers,

I did that with Aspire 8.0, but that didn't help much.
The real issue was found in UCCNC: the velocity on the 3 axes are set at 2600 as standard with the v2 s420 profile.
I had to set it way back to 1000 and less to reduce the overall speed of the axes.

Everything is working great now: UCCNC is a great tool !

Thanks for the help! :)

I found some interesting on the SC Homepage:

420/2 Productspecification:
On the german site:
Verfahrgeschwindigkeit:3000 mm/min - 118.11 inch/min
On the english site:
Speed:1800 mm/min

Looks SC is not working with the same specs in Germany and outside Germany

Best regards,
Michel

V2 STEPCRAFT has 3000mm/min supported rapids. That is a website typo.

If your machine is maxing out the feed rate and plnunge rate then the feed that is being applied is higher than the max feed. if you reduce the max speed of the machine then the machine will simply default to the max speed like you have seen. This is not a good way to operate. You should have your feed rate up at 2,600-3000mm/min and control the feed rate with the CAM package

you need to double and triple check in your aspire tool parmeters that you are in MM/MIN and you are at values of 1000 - 1500 - 2000.

you should see the feed rate in the window of the UCCNC. you can "control the feedrate" in the UCCNC window with the UCCNC feed override buttons. But the main source of control should be in your CAM package.

its very important that you can control and change the feed rate in aspire such that it translates to the machine. This way you can save parameters and settings for different tools and materials in the aspire tool database
