Neat vacuum for Stepcraft? was created by peterg1000
Hi all,

Just came across this neat cleaner, sounds useful for chip removal. No need for a separate vortex tube and waste bin.

Hi,

I ordered one of the stainless steel models last week and it was delivered today. Looks to be of good quality and produces a good airflow when connected to the Stepcraft adapter.

The stainless steel bin is really sturdy, so no deflection under vacuum and the motor/filter assembly can be removed easily for servicing or filter cleaning/change by depressing a couple of latches. The original hose can be disconnected from the supplied standard end fitting by removing a couple of screws, and a purpose made adapter links this end fitting directly to the Stepcraft hose.

I made my adapter from Al tube, but a wooden one would present no problem on the router.

Very pleased so far - suction at the spindle collet is way better than my redoubtable "Henry" could muster.

I use a vonHaus ash vacuum which is very similar:

www.vonhaus.com/cleaning/

15 litre, 800 Watt, HEPA filter.

I bought mine from Domu UK via Amazon for £29.99. It's orange top even matches your Steppi.

Noisy but effective!
