Fakt ist doch auch, dass alpenkreuzer mit Linearführungen und KUS auch nicht so viel besser lebt ... (Und die Karla kostet doch schon mal fast das Doppelte).

Ich mache mir aber ernsthaft Gedanken über die "Laufruhe" Deiner Maschine: im Gegensatz zu den glatten Alu-Schienen im Originalzustand der Stepcraft mußt Du m.E. einen wesentlich unruhigeren Lauf der Achse haben, da die Messingrollen der X-Achse ja direkt auf der Spindel laufen, quasi "rattern".
