Wooden Glasses Frames and Arms was created by Mr. B
Project: Wooden Glasses Frames and Arms
Materials: 3 mm Plywood and Iron on Walnut Veneer

Stepcraft 420
Proxxon IBS/E spindle
3mm two fluted slot drill
10,000 rpm
300 mm/min feed
100 mm/min plunge
Cut depth 1 mm

Still need to add the hinges and maybe varnish, will post up in the Show your creations section once finished.

Yes that aluminium plate was drilled and tapped M6 using a Bridgeport.

The walnut veneer is just on the front facing side.

Was looking for other woods (not standard plywood) to mix in some work as well.

Have been looking on eBay for glasses hinges Hinges or could make my own not too sure just yet and the glass are from a previous pair of prescription glasses I have, just had my eyes tested and the prescription didnt change.

I would check out the Internet for replacement or repair hinges ...

... or maybe just look in your drawer for an old pair of glasses ... :whistle:

I looked at a few types of hinges online, then saw some plastic and decided to have a crack at making my own.
Yeah they may not last that long as you say but I'll give them a go.
