Plunging on profile cuts was created by redflex
My Machine has been working fine up until I had to fix a snapped wire on the Z axis

Since the repair when cutting a profile my spindle suddenly keeps plunging through the wood despite the depth being set less than wood thickness.

When milling pockets or V cuts no problems,

I am using Vcarve & UCCNC on SC600 v2 and the fault occurs with both my proxxon spindle and my larger router spindle.

Did you insulate the broken cable against ground perfectly? May be cable touches ground in some positions or maybe there is another location on the cable where it touches ground? I would examine the complete cable.
