Cutters was created by TwoPlanks
Hi guys,

I have a quick question, I have been using the milling bits that have came with my SC 600.
The one which is 3mm with an end like a fish tail, would I be right in saying that it is an "up cut bit".
I am keen to order some more as I'm am getting on great with it as it seems to chuck all the waste up the extractor.

I have recently put in a straight cut 6mm trend cutter into the 1/4 " collet however this has caused for a lot more dust.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated and finally if someone could recommend a good cutter supplier that would be great.

Thanks

Mart

Mart,

what kind of spindle do you use? e.q. what is your shaft diam.
any cut bit witch is right twisted is an upwards cutter, left twisted is downward.

for any supplier witch country would you like to order?

SC 1/420 + Gantry extension, Kress 1050 FME-P, NeJe 20W Laser, WinPC-NC USB v4.00, Vectric Aspire 9, SolidWorks 2021

Hi TwoPlanks,

Have a look at the thread below, might help

www.stepcraft-systems.com/en/forum/accessories/2151-cnc-cutting-tool-suppliers-vendors

Can't see your location, obviously shipping costs can be restrictive depending on what side of the pond you are on.

If you are unsure if a cutter is up or down cut, twist it clockwise in your hand and see which way the chip would travel.

Best of luck.
