I made a holder long time ago, but decided today to make one out of beech.
Some little modifications have been made, but it has almost the same shape.

This system will not clean all the chips, but at least, it suck the dust away which is good enough.

Very nice, you are well on your way to a efficient dust shoe. Not sure if this will work www.toolstation.com/shop/Ironmongery/d170/Draught+Excluders/sd2802/Heavy+Duty+Brush+Strip/p68841 but I might try some. If you can't get this in Holland, let me know and I'll send you some when I get it.

Well, I don't know if I want to have a "closed" system after all.
I made a shoe in the past, but it wasn't handy after all.

The system I have is working very well: all the volatile dust is vacuumed, and the remains can be removed when the job is done.
