Best CAD/CAM solution for Stepcraft? was created by bluskies
Hi :cheer:
I'm new here and I am currently building my SC2 840, waiting for replacement parts.I try to pass time with looking at possible software solutions and have found a few entries on this, mostly in the german section of the forum (my german is not good  ) so I thought I'd start a thread where this could be descussed. All thoughts on the subject are welcome, HW-SW combos that works and ones that dosen't, what kind of interface does one need in the SC to use the different SW solutions etc.
Right now I'm trying to figure out the SW combo to use and if my USB "Full versin" is compatible/usable or if I need a converter, controller, buy the other (Sub 25) board.

Considering these combos:
Solid Works & Solid Cam
Solid Works & HSM Works
AutoCAD & Inventor HSM
Only Inventor HSM
Only Fusion 360

As far as I can see Fusion 360 should be the easiest solution to start with and the most future oriented solution? Is that "plug&play" with the HW I have?

:silly:

I use this:

CAD: Qcad
CAM: V-Carve/Aspire

It works for me.

Stepcraft 2 840
Kress 800 FME
UCCNC + UC100
V-Carve + QCad

Thanks :)
Which machine interface do you use it with?
Is it good at auto creating optimized tool paths or does it require a lot of manual "fiddling" between CAD and milling start?

I use UCCNC, but your software also works with it.

It's very easy to work with.

Kress 800 FME
UCCNC + UC100
V-Carve + QCad
