M1000 Dust Boot Control Operation

Hello,
I have an M1000 with a tool magazine and dust boot control. WhenI turn on my machine the dust boot does not raise up like it should. This happens in each setting of the switch on the back of the machine. The only time the dust boot raises is when I perfrom a manual tool change or during the offsetting program for setting tool lengths. I've tried setting port14 and pin1 to the mister and this does work but it also makes the tool changer release its tool, not ideal if i want to raise the dust shoe during an operation. I really dont mind the dust shoe being down all the time except for when I want to see how things are going. Any know what I'm doing wrong? Thank you!
