I received my Kress 1050 FM-E which is equipped with a 8mm collet.
So I ordered a 3.175mm collet for my machine at Sorotec, but I'm wondering if the original clamp nut can be used for other size collets.
Or do I also need to buy a different clamp nut for each size?
I'm asking this because a few stores are selling the different collets along with the clamp nut, so I begin to have some doubts.

I had the syme problem.
My solve: You can you the same nut. But it is more comfortable to use one nut for each clamp. It is a little bit tricky to pull the clamp out of the nut. So when you often have to change the clamps, buy one nut for each clamp.

Well, I have a collection of 3.175 bits, so I will not need to change the collet for now.
But it makes sense to buy the set (collet & nut) if you need to change it often.
I'm reassured 🙂
